LAAFSC Scholarships for High School Seniors

In May 2011, the Los Angeles Air Force Spouses Club awarded $40,000 in scholarships to high school seniors of military and DoD families. The number and dollar amount of scholarship awards is dependent on the generosity of our community and the success of our annual scholarship fundraisers.

Scholarship recipients are chosen by an independent awards committee based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, demonstrated leadership and character. The awards committee uses the scholarship application, three written recommendations and an applicant essay to assess these qualities.

The 2012 High School scholarship application deadline is 1 March 2012.

LAAFSC Scholarships for Undergraduate Continuing Education Students

The LAAFSC offers scholarships for undergraduate continuing education students who are a dependent child of military and DoD families. There will be at least two scholarships in an amount no less than $1,000 each. Scholarship recipients will be chosen by lottery at the 12 March 2012 Charity Auction. (You do not have to be present to win.) Scholarship applicants need to provide a college transcript from a regionally or nationally accredited school showing a GPA of 2.5 or greater and a minimum of 30 credit hours completed. Those who have received a LAAFSC scholarship in the past are not eligible.

The 2012 continuing education scholarship application will be available by 1 November 2011.
